Anxiety and Exercise

Hey Fitness Humans!

Today we’re sharing a study from the Journal of Affective Disorders about using exercise to treat symptoms of anxiety. Testing different exercise intensities, participants doing moderate and intense exercise saw improvements in their symptoms over a 12-week period.

This research is a timely reminder that during stressful times, your self-care routine is so important. If you have something like Seasonal Affective Disorder or are exhausted from everything that’s happened in the last 2 years, it can seem difficult to do anything physical.

If you need some gentle support, we have some things that may assist you. Our Podcast with Fiona Jeyachendran about goal-setting or our holiday stress episode from last year speak to these pressures, and if you want some structured, in-person exercise, we’re starting our  3Wave@theMassey workouts on Monday, Nov 15 at 7pm, which you can register for here.
